Some of Tear Gas has leaked on the internet already. I'm not gonna say where, but if you're the type to look for leaks you know where to go. I would rather you purchase the album or get your ass out to Amoeba to cop it the first day out. Remember doing that? I bought Crime Pays the day it dropped; it feels good to support your guy [||]. Also, if you are sick of how awful mainstream rap is, get off your ass and go buy an album every once in a while. Bitch as much as you want about the state of mainstream rap, but as the late, great Cougnut would say "That's what your mouth say". Talk with your money. This is 2009.
Even though I'm not a journalist (you fat fuck), I thought, out of a journalistic interest, I should listen to the album to let you - the consumer - know if it's good or not. And, considering I never give away entire albums (except for hard-to-find/OOP/Classics), I thought, for the sake of promotion (though I am not a promoter, you fat fuck) I might liberate the single here. For promo purposes. I hope this doesn't ruin my chances with his Marketing dude to go to the listening party/give away schwag (two firsts for the Nation!).
Jacka, Andre Nickatina "Glamorous Lifestyle"
Traxxamillion produced. King Nicky on the third verse. And The Jack is just perfect with his patented sing-songy gangster raps. This is the first single off the album. And if you like it, you should like the rest of the album, from the songs that I've heard. So, let's do right by our own this time around. Also, feel free to participate in this bizarre ad campaign. That's not a bad deal, right?

Isn't it all just a money laundering scheme? You don't need to promote the records; they'll sell...
Even legit record labels buy shit tons of their own records when they release to inflate their first week numbers.
Some records will sell just because of who the artists are and where they're from, not what's on them. For example, I'm not that impressed with Glamorous Lifestyle.
^^^
I'm not impressed with your illuminati conspiracy theories.
How does that make you feel?
This album is a long time in the making, I'm excited. Plus I heard Jacka smokes pot...
This text message thing is kinda cool I might just text 30303 to see what kind of text I get on 6/16/09.

im sensing a salty atttude on this post pilly. lets hope that anonymous comment a few back didnt get u too worked. anyhow. I'd like to say something about Jacka's trailer for the album. I know this is kinda common, in fact I went here (http://www.deconmedia.com/) and learned that a lot of artists choose to create (have a digital media company create) fancy conceptual trailers for albums, But i really like this idea. Think it builds some excitement for whats become an otherwise forgettable event - the album release. What do yall think ab this?
Post some new Roachy G.

Roach Gigz' version of cribs. Its pretty funny.
At any rate, I'm willing to believe the Soundscan numbers are fudged. Whether it has anything to do with money laundering is a lot more speculative.
Sending someone into an independent record store with drug money to buy your records distributed by your own label seems like an easy way to turn illegal income legit. Plus, being a local rap or rock star has loads of great perks that help make up for the money lost to retailers.
I've probably been watching too much of the Wire but come on: there is a very strong connection between Bay Area rappers and drug use. I don't think this laundering theory is too far fetched.
pretty far fetched, anon. Have you actually done the calculations? Let's assume that he's got a pretty good deal and gets 50% of record sales directly in his pocket (this is a typical indie record label deal, not sure what the deals are for livewire, etc.). Let's also assume that he's a small-time dealer and wants to launder profits from a single key, $25k. That means at most, he'll get $12.5k from any deal involving purchasing discs at retail... and he's still going to have 9,630 copies of the goddamn disc lying around (assuming $12.98 per cop) and that's like a stack of discs somwhere around 20 stories (200ft) high.
Even if he gets more than 50% of the profit, it's still a seriously stupid way to launder money... and I'm sure a discerning individual like the Jacka 1) probably has a bit more than $25k to convert and 2) probably wants a better return.
So, yeah, get a new theory, yo.
(and I cop'd the album... although I have a job (for a while, at least).)
Anon is very drysnitch like, but whatevs. You guys know the link is only for 15 sec of the song right?
You also know that I don't care and will support at retail. Even though jack was talking bad on the lakers last night on Twitter.

Anon #1 - have you picked up a newspaper or blog lately? records don't just sell anymore. Cam sold wood, despite the hype. Asher Roth sold wood, even though he had the biggest most ridiculous marketing effort behind his garbage. No one sells records anymore. That's true that labels buy records, so take that into account when looking at first week numbers. NO ONE BUYS SHIT!
Joebeone - excellent number crunching, but i think Anon's point is that if you own your record label and do all your distribution yourself, you would get all the money back. he forgets, of course that things retail for about 150% of what they wholesale for, and that's what would make this the stupidest money laundering scheme ever.
back to Anon - just open a bodega. laundromat, whatever. so long as all transactions are made in cash, it'd be easy as fuck to clean up your money in much less conspicuous ways than MAKING RAP MUSIC ABOUT DOING ILLEGAL WORK TO MAKE MONEY THEN PURCHASING SAID MUSIC TO CLEAN UP YOUR ILLEGAL MONEY GAINED IN WAYS YOU DESCRIBE IN EXPLICIT DETAIL ON THE VERY SAME RECORD. though there's something really redemptive about that, in a post-ironic sense.
also, dameSTATUS is right, you're kinda dry snitching. but Dame, be patient with zShare, that's the whole track right there.
anyone have a link to buckets and bootycalls? or MANGO?
